PHOTOS: Ole Miss football is still waiting on Deion Smith to show
Well, it’s Groundhog Day. Again. Deion Smith was supposed to FINALLY (no, for real this time!) suit up as an Ole Miss Rebel at practice on Tuesday.
He rather predictably did not, according to the Ole Miss Spirit’s Chuck Rounsaville. The wait continues.
Ayden Williams is currently dominating the snaps in Smith’s place. He’s the second second outside receiver with the first team opposite Tre Harris. Cayden Lee is in the slot. Ole Miss is being cautious and working Jordan Watkins back slowly.
Cayden Lee’s breakout @OleMissFB season is coming. I’m calling it now.

Maybe Smith, formerly of LSU, shows up Thursday — the next opportunity for the media to view practice.
The track record to this point obviously inspires little or no confidence, however.
Smith was a JUCO All-American last season. He totaled 1,063 yards and 12 touchdowns in just eight games.
The good news is Micah Davis, an all-conference transfer from Utah State, has been practicing for a few days now. However, Jordan Smart, from North Texas, has remained off to the side in a black, no-contact jersey. Izaiah Hartrup, a transfer from Southern Illinois, is mixing in more. He opened camp in black.
