Ty Majeski wins Clean Harbors 250 at Richmond, Daniel Dye clinches playoff spot

Ty Majeski wins Clean Harbors 250 at Richmond, Daniel Dye clinches playoff spot

Heading into the NASCAR Truck Series Playoffs, Ty Majeski caps off the regular season with back-to-back checkered flags. He is a short track master and gets it done at Indy before the break and now Richmond.

Ty Majeski knows how to race these short tracks. His time in the ASA Stars Tour has done him well. In fact, he has had bounties put on him, extra money for taking him down in a race, on the local circuits.

Ben Rhodes and Daniel Dye clinch the final two playoff spots on points. Majeski walks away with the win. Christian Eckes clinches the regular season championship.

Ty Majeski is a threat to win the championship. He loves these short tracks and what is Phoenix? A one mile short track. It is going to be a very fun postseason in NASCAR.

Christian Eckes wins Stage 1, clinches regular season

The regular season championship was decided after Stage 1 tonight. Christian Eckes won the pole and went on to dominate the opening stage. Richmond is a tough track at times, but Eckes made it look smooth early.

While he wouldn’t maintain that same smooth composure and speed late into the race, it was enough to get the championship locked down. Overall, the opening stage was without much drama.

Matt Mills got into the wall and was knocked out of the race. Otherwise, this was a green-flag affair. Ty Majeski tried to keep pace, but Grant Enfinger was the only early challenger for Eckes.

That would change in the second and third stages.

Grant Enfinger hits back in Stage 2

To begin the stage, Ty Majeski had an uncontrolled tire on pit road. That sent him to the rear of the lead lap in the field. Not where he wanted to be. However, not an unfamiliar situation for Majeski, who is a short-track racer by trade.

Slowly but surely, Grant Enfinger was able to reel in Christian Eckes. Once he passed the 19 truck, he didn’t look back. But that is when Corey Heim began to come on strong. Majeski was marching from the rear to the front again.

Stage 2 would go to Enfinger in the end. However, it was just the calm before the storm. This race, and the battle on the playoff cutline, only got more intense as the race went on.

In Stage 2, we had more green flag racing with some mistakes sprinkled in throughout the field.
