Giants-Lions game raises concerns for NFL’s new first down technology
The NFL preseason is underway and that means that officials get the chance to iron out some wrinkles in new technology. The Lions-Giants game featured the “Hawk-Eye” technology to measure for a first down, as opposed to the old method of using the chains. It took a few minutes for the technology to work it’s magic. And the broadcast crew shared their thoughts and concerns about it, including former Giants QB Phil Simms.
