Watch List Season: Tracking Alabama players recognized by preseason awards
Watch list season is officially here.
Over the next two-plus weeks, the National College Football Awards Association will announce the preseason watch lists for 16 individual awards for the upcoming 2024 season.
Alabama should be well represented among the national honors, as the reveal schedule begins with the Maxwell Award on July 29 and concludes with the Butkus Award on Aug. 13.

Lott IMPACT Trophy
– Goes to the Defensive IMPACT Player of the Year, a player who has had the biggest impact on his team both on and off the field

Maxwell Award
– Presented to the best player in college football
Jalen Milroe, QB

Patrick Mannelly Award
– Presented to the overall best Long Snapper at the Division I FBS level

Outland Trophy
– Presented to the Nation’s Best Interior Lineman

Bronko Nagurski Trophy
– Presented annually to the Top Defensive Player in college football

– Given annually to the best defensive back in college football based on performance on the field, athletic ability and character

– Presented annually to college football’s most outstanding punter

Walter Camp Award

Doak Walker Award
– The PwC SMU Athletic Forum annually presents the award to the nation’s most outstanding college running back

Davey O’Brien Award
– Presented annually to the nation’s best college quarterback and is the oldest national quarterback award

– Will be announced on Friday, Aug. 9
