Following the conclusion of the men’s decathlon at the Paris Olympics, Brad Keselowski was being tagged in posts, but why? Well, it had a lot to do with how much the NASCAR driver looks like the Decathlon gold medal winner.
Markus Rooth of Norway put on the performance of his life in Paris. Event after event, he put up personal bests and fantastic performances. In the end, it netted him an improbable gold medal.
It just so happens that Rooth could be a distant cousin of Brad Keselowski. At any rate, the RFK Racing driver-owner thought it would be fun to lean into the joke.
From breaking his 100+ race losing streak to winning a gold medal – 2024 is Brad Keselowski’s year. Joking aside, I think that the driver felt good to have the Olympic break, but I’m sure he is ready to get back to racing just like all of the fans at home.
Markus Rooth was in disbelief at his win. It was one of the special moments of the Olympics so far. It was like he couldn’t even process it following the 1500m run to end the Decathlon. At least race fans have a bit of racing to watch on the track as they wait for the Cup Series.
Brad Keselowski ready for the playoffs
With the win from Darlington this season, Brad Keselowski is ready to take on the NASCAR Playoffs once again. Last year he made it in on points, but it was ultimately a disappointing trip to the postseason with a win.
So, Keselowski is ready. He has a win, has built a decent amount of points – now what? At this point in the season, Keselowski would be the 8-seed going into the playoffs. He has earned a decent number of playoff points to put him right in the middle of the pack to start.
That is good for Keselowski. It means that he has a good chance to make the Round of 12 and maybe even beyond. You want to be further up in those standings when everything starts to give you a cushion on the bottom half of the field.
Brad Keselowski has put together a solid season, especially at 40 years old. RFK Racing is improving, they are a threat to win many weeks of the season. What are your expectations for Keselowski in the postseason?
