Where does Penn State’s official visit schedule stand with just days to go?
Happy Memorial Day, Penn State fans. The Nittany Lion coaching staff spent a few days away with family ahead of what’s going to be a massively important month of June.
With 14 players currently committed for the Class of 2024, Penn State is basically at the halfway point. James Franklin and his staff should be over 20 commitments total by mid-July, as over 40 of the nation’s top high school prospects are set to take official visits to Penn State next month.
Penn State’s Expected June Official Visit Schedule
June 2-4
LB Chris Cole
DL Xavier Gilliam
DE Jaylen Harvey
WR Jaylan Hornsby
LB Kari Jackson
Saf. Dejuan Lane
CB Sione Laulea
OL Deryc Plazz
WR Chance Robinson
Since our last update, we’ve heard mixed things on whether WR NiTareon Tuggle still plans to visit Penn State this upcoming weekend. As of now, I think it’s less than 50/50, which is why I’m keeping him off the list. Edge rusher Jaylen Harvey has moved his visit up a week and will now be on campus the first weekend of June. Florida (June 9-11), USC (June 17-19) and Maryland (June 23-25) are expected to also host him later in the month, although Penn State would love to wrap him up.
We also added WR Jaylen Hornsby to the list just this past weekend. He confirmed his plans on Saturday. Junior college cornerback Sione Laulea also confirmed that he’ll take an official visit a few days ago. DL Liam Andrews hasn’t informed the media publicly yet, but we’re also hearing he should be in State College next weekend.
June 9-11
CB Antoine Belgrave-Shorter
OL Eagan Boyer
Ath. Caleb Brewer
OL Cooper Cousins
QB Ethan Grunkemeyer
OL Donovan Harbour
RB Quinton Martin
CB Jon Mitchell
TE Luke Reynolds
OL Garrett Sexton
LB Anthony Speca
RB Corey Smith
CB Kenny Woseley
CB Jameer Grimsley
WR Nick Marsh
TE Caleb Odom
DT Xavier Porter
DL Nigel Smith
Saf. Vaboue Toure
DE Jamonta Waller
DE Mylachi Williams
Penn State’s June 9-11 weekend hasn’t changed much since we last posted an update. As noted, Harvey moved his visit up a week, while WR Nick Marsh moved his back to this week, but aside from that, this weekend has been locked in for a few weeks now. With 21 players locked in, including more of the committed players, that’s no surprise. Penn State doesn’t want to go much over 20 for any one weekend.
June 16-18
WR Josiah Brown
OL Ethan Calloway
OL Kai Greer
DB Jaylen Heyward
LB Elijah Newby
CB Terhyon Nichols
DE Brian Robinson
DL Benedict Umeh
We’re hearing that wide receiver Josiah Brown will likely visit this weekend instead of the following. We’re still waiting to confirm with Brown, but multiple sources have informed us that his visit was moved up a week. He was originally expected to visit Georgia that weekend. We were also informed that Ohio State wide receiver commit Jeremiah Smith will likely visit June 23-25, instead of this weekend.
Aside from that, this weekend has featured many changed in recent weeks. We are monitoring DL T.A. Cunningham for a visit this weekend. He’s yet to confirm that publicly, but our sources have hinted that Penn State expects him on campus this weekend.
June 23-25
DL DeAndre Cook
WR Jerrae Hawkins
OL Guerby Lambert
Saf. Kaj Sanders
WR Jeremiah Smith
This weekend should see multiple additions in the weeks ahead. As noted above, it sounds like Smith will likely visit this weekend, although we’re still a bit skeptical on whether he visits at all. Penn State is also working to get Nebraska tight end Carter Nelson to take an official visit. He’s likely leaning toward Georgia, but he could be a player that’s added to this list at some point.
