2026 LB Jase Reynolds takes first visit to Nebraska since offer at summer camp

Elkhorn (Neb.) North junior linebacker Jase Reynolds was back in Lincoln this weekend, just weeks after picking up an offer from Nebraska following camp. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound linebacker/edge was able to take another look around Nebraska’s shiny new facilities and spend a lot of time with one of Nebraska’s 2025 commitments.

“I got the offer from Nebraska earlier this summer at one of the camps,” Reynolds said. “The visit was great. They started by giving us a tour of the facilities, the meeting rooms, and all the new stuff they have.

“They had us split into teams where we did a scavenger hunt. It was a good way to get to know the campus. We were driving around in these golf carts. It was a great way to tour the school and the campus.”

Reynolds already has a good connection with his position coach and the head coach at Nebraska. He’s also staying in touch with the recruiting coach for his area, and they have ongoing conversations about sports.

“I really like coach Rob Dvoracek and coach Matt Rhule. Every time I have been down there and talked to them, they have been really great. I have also talked to coach Ed Foley a couple of times over the phone.

“We are really getting to know each other on a personal level. I am a big baseball guy, so we are always catching up about baseball and talking about that. Every time I go to Lincoln, we get closer and closer.”

Jase Reynolds connects with 2025 Nebraska commitment

When Reynolds broke out into groups on Saturday, he was paired up with Omaha (Neb.) Millard North safety and Nebraska commitment Caden VerMaas. It was a great opportunity to get to know the future Husker.

“I was in the same group with Caden VerMaas,” Reynolds said. “I didn’t know him going into the weekend. We actually live pretty close to one another, and our schools are a couple of miles apart.

“Knowing that he was a Nebraska kid and a commitment, it was good to get introduced to him. We became pretty good friends and hung out all day.”

Elkhorn North is off this week from workouts and will start back up again next weekend to get ready for the season. Reynolds plans to get back to Lincoln several times this fall for gamedays. He is considering visiting several other schools this fall besides Nebraska.

“We are off this week completely, and then we start conditioning and then practices. I am planning on getting back to as many home games as we can; I plan to take a lot of game visits. And I am talking to Kansas State, Iowa State, Minnesota, and South Dakota State about going to games there.”

Reynolds finished his sophomore year with 57 total tackles, 36 solos, 21 assists, five tackles for loss, and two interceptions.
