Four-Star DB Brandon Lockhart Discusses Oregon SNL Visit

Despite an early commitment to USC, Oregon has remained in the mix for Loyola (Calif.) defensive back Brandon Lockhart. The 6-foot-1, 165-pounder is one of the top defensive players out West in the 2026 class.

Lockhart currently ranks as the No. 36 overall player and the No. 2 ranked cornerback nationally in the On3 Industry Rankings. Making him a truly elite prospect at his position.

The USC commit didn’t hesitate and offered a lot of praise for his camp experience at Oregon.

“I spent a majority of my time with Coach (Rashad) Wadood, but also had some good sit down time with Coach (Chris) Hampton. Coach Tosh (Lupoi) always makes me feel welcome and makes it very clear that he wants me on his defense.”

As you would expect, even Dan Lanning got in on the act and worked on recruiting the elite talent.

Coach Lanning spent time with my parents, and we also had a great talk about what could be my future in Eugene. I always feel really comfortable when I come up here. I know quite a few players and the coaches are about authentic as they come. I could definitely call Eugene home and feel really great about that decision.”

At the moment three schools have his attention with a final decision coming relatively soon.

“When it comes down to it, I’d have to say the 3 schools sitting at the top of my list are Oregon, USC and Georgia. I know a few more are making a really big push for me, so we’ll see if the list changes over the next few months. I’d really like to be locked in on where I’m headed before the end of this year.”

Lockhart has taken multiple visits to Oregon since his commitment. The Ducks have made the four-star a top priority early on in this 2026 cycle. Currently Oregon does not have any defensive backs committed in the 2026 class.
