2026 4-star OL Gregory Patrick breaks down his top schools

Portage (Mich.) Portage Northern offensive lineman Gregory Patrick has over 20 offers and the four-star is ready to narrow his list down with the start of his junior year right around the corner.

Alabama, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Penn State and Wisconsin are Patrick’s top nine schools.

“I have been thinking about this over the summer,” Patrick told On3. “I have been talking to recruits in my class about where at and where they stand and I felt it was important for me to do this. Cutting my schools down going into the season is something I wanted to do so I can focus on my season. I see this list staying in the future. I do not see another school coming in late and changing things, so these are the schools I will focus on now.”

Patrick is a Michigan State legacy and he visited East Lansing once in the spring and summer. His uncle played at Nebraska, so he has connections to two Big Ten programs. The No. 118 prospect in the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking visited Michigan for the third time over the weekend. He has visited each school on his list at least once and those have been important.

“Visits have been good for me. On visits, I can get on campus and talk to coaches in person and learn about the programs. Academics are important to me and I have talked to a lot of academic counselors on visits. I have learned a lot about the schools on the visits.”

Each school on his list had a “lot of things” in common with each having their own “unique things” as well to make them different. Patrick wants to take in some games this fall, then take handful of official visits before making a decision before his senior season.

“It will come down to academics because I want to be pushed academically and see the different opportunities after football,” Patrick said. “Then it is about development, the culture of the team, what coaches can make me better and having a chance to compete and win big.
