New Orleans (La.) Warren Easton offensive lineman Jalan Chapman committed to LSU, he announced on Sunday. The three-star in-state prospect is the third pledge for Brian Kelly and the Tigers in the 2026 class.

“It feels amazing knowing all my family can make my games no problem and that I’m going to leave my legacy in my state.”
Associate head coach Frank Wilson helped get the ball rolling for Chapman to land with the Tigers.
“He meant a big piece,” Chapman said. “He was the one to start my recruitment off with LSU so he was the first stepping stone to my commitment.”
Offensive line coach Brad Davis was the next key piece to landing him.
“Coach Brad was the final piece of the puzzle,” he said. “He is the one who I’m gonna be with early morning and long nights trying to win the Joe Moore Award and a National Championship with. He is gonna be my coach and a mentor and he can develop me to be the best.”
Head coach Brian Kelly also stands out to him.
“BK is jus an addition with coach Frank and Brad,” Chapman said. “He knows what he wants from his coaching staff and players. He keeps the main thing the main thing.”
Chapman picked LSU over Alabama, Arkansas, USC, Oregon, Tennessee and numerous others. According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, he ranks as the No. 35 overall interior offensive lineman and No. 11 prospect in Louisiana.
