Kameryn Fountain talks 865 Live event and more

Atlanta (Ga.) Washington four-star edge Kameryn Fountain is working toward a late summer commitment. Fountain saw his recruitment take off in the winter and was back on Rocky Top this weekend. He loved the feel of a laid back weekend of games and bonding amongst coaches and recruits.

“I liked the fact that me and all the coaches had bonded throughout the whole thing,” Fountain said, “And they were very competitive, even though it was a family day.

“I was really just trying to see what they do outside of football.”

Fountain has bonded well with defensive line coach Rodney Garner. He was on G’s team for all the activities this weekend and sees why Garner is so fondly thought of for his longevity.

“I like they’re building a good program,” Fountain said, “And I like that Coach Garner built a good legacy himself as a defensive end coach.”

He will take official visits starting next month and he is looking for a school with strong academics and a good program for his interest in engineering electronics.

“They have to have a good academic program and my major,” Fountain said. “I see how high the light bill be because of me. I want to find a better way to lower that or just don’t have it at all.”

Fountain’s like many of the prospects in town enjoyed the break from talking ball. He loves the genuine approach from the Vol staff that includes big picture thinking.

“It just ain’t about football up here,” Fountain said. “It’s more than football. Football’s got to end one day and that’s what they tell you. It’s got to end one day, so they’re going to help you work on the stuff outside of school, outside of football that’s going to help you in life.”

He’s now the No. 146 overall prospect in the On3 Industry rankings for the class of 2024. Fountain has picked up 23 offers. He will be back on Rocky Top for his official visit the final weekend before the dead period starts in late June.
