Newsstand: More than a dozen Penn State players earn all-conference honors from Athlon Sports

Tweets of the Day

Penn State may now be 99 days out from the start of its 2023 season, but media outlets aren’t wasting any time regarding preseason recognition. Athlon Sports is the most recent to join this group, releasing not only a first-team All-Big Ten team but three additional teams to make it four total.

As most would expect, Ohio State leads the list with 20 players. Michigan is next with 17, followed by Penn State with 13 players earning all-conference honors. Those who earned first-team honors should be no surprise, with offensive lineman Olu Fashanu, defensive lineman Chop Robinson, linebacker Abdul Carter and cornerback Kalen King all earning first-team honors.

In other news, former Penn State wide receiver Jaden Dottin has found his next school. A Class of 2020 prospect, Dottin entered the transfer portal back in January. He played just 19 total snaps over the course of three seasons for the Nittany Lions. Dottin was a former three-star prospect from Suffield Academy in Massachusetts.

“We’ve got a chance to be better on the O-line, we’ve got a chance to be better at running back, we’ve got a chance to be better at tight end. We have a question mark at wide receiver. I saw some things this spring to get excited about but not ready to stamp ’em yet.”
