North Aurora (Ill.) West Aurora On300 receiver Terrence Smith is nearing his college decision.
The four-star Smith narrowed his field down to a pair of Big Ten schools.
“I came down to two schools,” Smith told On3. “Minnesota and Iowa after visiting and going on my officials and being around the coaches and getting a good feel of the programs.”
The 6-foot-4, 185-pound Smith will be a big pickup for either program. On3 ranks him as the nation’s No. 25 receiver and No. 170 prospect overall. He is the No. 7 overall prospect in Illinois.
Iowa currently has 12 commits in the 2025 cycle and ranks 38 nationally in the On3 Industry Recruiting Rankings. Seth Wallace is his lead recruiter.
Minnesota has 22 commits and ranks No. 51 nationally. Matt Simon is leading the efforts for the Gophers.
Minnesota got its official visit the weekend of June 14 and the Hawkeyes got him on campus the weekend of June 21.
