2024 Duncanville (Tex.) running back Caden Durham wrapped up a busy spring with football and track — standing out in both sports. The four-star prospect is now going to dive into preparing for his senior year and his recruiting process.
“It was good. Even though I came in late, I still had a good time,” Durham told On3 after Wednesday’s Spring Game. “Track was amazing. We had a good time. I’m working on elusiveness and my receiving out of the backfield.”
On the recruiting front, Durham is relatively quiet on his top schools, official visit dates or a decision timeline.
LSU is expected to host him officially in June, probably the last weekend of the month. Durham’s been down to Baton Rouge and the Tigers are right near the top for the 5-9, 195-pound back.
“Shoot, LSU is LSU. Everything is good about LSU. The food, the people, the school,” Durham said. “LSU is finna shoot and go out the roof this year for sure.”
Running backs coach Frank Wilson and recruiting specialist Sherman Wilson continue to push for the On3 Top 100 prospect.
“That (Frank Wilson) is my dawg. He’s a real dude. He can talk to you sweet then when it comes to football he gets real serious,” he said. “Coach Sherm is a funny guy. He’s just funny. Hilarious.”

Oklahoma, the slight On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine leader over LSU, has ties to Durham. Durham has family sprinkled throughout the state and he sees big things for the Sooners.
“OU is gonna be OU. That’s my hometown,” he said. “When their quarterback gets right, they’re going to be top guys again like they usually is.”
From running backs coach DeMarco Murray to offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby and head coach Brent Venables, it’s a group effort with the Sooners.
“He (Murray) is like my big uncle to me. He’s like family to me,” Durham said. “He (Venables) keeps it real with me 24/7. He tells me what he feels and I can ask any other coach about that and they say the same thing he said.”
Michigan State also has an official visit locked in for June 9. Running backs coach Effrem Reed is leading the charge.
“The coaches talk to me and we always have good conversation,” Durham said. “It’s never just about me. It’s about life in general and what they can do for me after school. Coach Reed is a real dude. He keeps it a buck with me through everything.”
Whenever he does make a decision, he has a few priorities when it comes to making a decision.
“Football is gonna be football. I know if I trust the coach then he’ll help me get to the league. I’m looking for outside of football for my major, food, places to chill with and if I can actually stay after I graduate.”
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Durham ranks as the No. 129 overall prospect in the country and No. 10 running back nationally. On3 is even higher on Durham, ranking as the No. 96 overall prospect and No. 11 running back.
