Commitment decision preview: 4-star safety Jaylan Morgan
Rockvale (Tenn.) safety Jaylan Morgan is set to announce his decision Monday. The 6-foot, 190 pound prospect will decide between Florida, Georgia, Mississippi State and Ole Miss at 2pm CT.
The four-star recruit is the nation’s No. 24 safety and No. 252 prospect overall. He is also the 6th-ranked player in the state of Tennessee. He has taken official visits to all four finalists, the last being to Athens to see Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs.
Georgia is the leader, per his Recruiting Prediction Machine. At 66.9 percent, Morgan is predicted to be a Bulldog on Monday. The in-state program, Tennessee, despite not being a finalist is in second at 26.0 percent.
Jaylan Morgan is ready to make his decision public.
“I feel relieved that it’s over with,” Morgan said. “It was putting a little stress on me but I feel like I’m blessed to be in the spot that I’m in. A lot of kids probably wish that they’re in the position that I’m in and I’m thankful and really blessed. I’m also excited that it’s coming to an end because I get to go to a school that I’ve always dreamed of since I was a little kid. I’ve always wanted to play college football.”
My pick, as well On3’s Steve Wiltfong, is in for Georgia.
Ole Miss is not coming away empty-handed this summer.
The secondary is already set to welcome in four-star commits Keon Young and Cortez Thomas. Three-stars Major Preston and Maison Dunn are also committed to Lane Kiffin’s 2025 group. And another top target, four-star safety Ladarian Clardy, announced his top schools over the weekend and should be making a decision soon. Ole Miss is battling Florida State there.
