Teddy Foster, in-state sleeper DB, lands Florida Gators offer, plans to visit soon
Teddy Foster flew under the radar for awhile. Not anymore.
This spring, the offers have poured in.
And on Tuesday, another big one arrived for the 3-star safety from Sarasota (Fla.) Cardinal Mooney.
It came from the Florida Gators.
“It’s means a lot,” Foster told Gators Online. “My sister just graduated from UF a couple weeks ago. I was just there.”
Florida secondary coach Corey Raymond visited Cardinal Mooney on Tuesday.
“He likes my frame, how I move, me being able to play both sides — safety and corner, and that I’m 6-foot-1, 170 pounds,” Foster said. “ Good size, good length.”
All told, Foster, who recorded “three or four’” interceptions last season, claims 28 offers. At this time, he has no top schools, he said.
“It’s hard to say because everything is happening,” Foster told Gators Online. “These last couple of offers put me on the radar. Before these last couple (offers), I’d say Southern Cal has been on me a lot, Vandy has been on me. North Carolina has been on me a lot. Illinois, Oregon State and Kansas.”
Teddy Foster could visit the Gators in June
Foster has nothing scheduled yet, but he said he will visit the Gators soon.
“I plan on it,” he said. “I’m going to go to a camp there this year probably and then come back.”
Foster has not yet started setting up official visits.
Is Florida too late to the party?
“No, no one is too late,” Foster said. “Anything can happen.”
He added his interest level in the Gators is “pretty high.”
“Play SEC ball, being able to go back to the school my sister graduated from — there are some really nice benefits of it,” Foster said.
When the Gators offer came, Foster quickly told his family about it.
“They’re really excited,” Foster said. “My sister called me about it. She’s excited.”
