ScoopDuck Eval: Da’Saahn Brame

The Wedding day is off with some fireworks. As you guys know it’s a big day for me so I’m hopping on and then right off.

Thankfully my guy QB11 came through in the clutch once more with an incredible eval. Let’s get right into it.

Huge pickup for Coach Mehringer to hold off a surging and well funded Tennesse for Oregons top TE target on the board. I’ll get it out of the way now that Brame I’m my estimation is the best true TE prospect Oregon has landed since Pharoah Brown. Getting 6’6 240 pound kids with this kind of liquid athleticism is huge for an offense.

Athletically, Brame is off the charts, smooth easy straight line gas, exceptional body control and change of direction in the shirt area, the AA to go way outside his frame and catch contested balls with endless length and vertical ability. The frame and proportions to play inline or detached. This will almost certainly be an overlooked commitment in the class. Needless to say I think Brame relative to his position is right up there with Dallas Wilson as the best player in the class so far.

Post catch Brame has good contact balance and COD to make players miss and create explosives out of intermediate passes. As a blocker he shows the want to be dominant which is all that really matters cause of course being so much bigger and explosive he’s dominating in HS. The dog is what transfers up a level and I think it’s really hard to teach that part of blocking.

A TE room that loses Ferguson and Herbert will be looking for big bodied versatile players to compliment the freaky athleticism of Sadiq and Brame could factor into that equation early. Massive pickup for Oregon.
