All questions were submitted on our “WeAreSC Members Only” Forum.

With the Mike Bohn news seemingly coming out of nowhere, what is the feeling regarding the stability of the program among players, recruits, staff etc?
I haven’t gotten any vibes this development has created any sense of concern among the USC coaching staff. There’s extremely competent head coaches in charge of the athletic programs and very solid people still inside the athletic department offices.
Now it’s time to begin the search for the new athletic director and I’m confident coaches like Lincoln Riley’s input will be sought.
Behind Michael Tarquin, Jonah Monheim and Mason Murphy, who will be the 4th Offensive Tackle? The player that takes 2nd team O-line reps opposite Murphy.
Although he’s just a true freshman, I’m guessing Elijah Paige will be among the group vying for second-team Offensive Tackle reps. He’s definitely physically ready. I’m also told he was one of the more impressive young players since his arrival in January.
Tobias Raymond is also impressive looking physically, but he’ll need some time to develop per Josh Henson.
Now that the Dylan Raiola sweepstakes are over, is there anything you can share that you’ve heard as to where things took a turn?
Have no idea about a turn with Railoa. Just seems like he preferred what’s at Georgia over USC. It’s really that simple.
Ryan Pellum, Dre’lon Miller and Bryant Wesco. Of those three wide receivers, who do you think USC has the best chance of signing? Is it realistic that USC can get two of those guys?
My bet as of 11:30am CT on May 22, is the 2023 USC wide receiver class includes Xavier Jordan and one or two guys from your list. But we have a long way to go and others will almost certainly enter the picture if commitments are gained from Miller, Wesco or Pellum.
I wrote a comment on another thread about the value of getting high caliber recruits from other regions to visit even if it’s a long shot. I see it as a good way to get USC’s name out there that could land us other recruits who are not just long shots. Do you have any stories or insight that would back up that claim?
We could use Anthony Lucas as one of the primary examples of how visits aren’t wasted. He visited USC three times unofficially. So, when it came time to transfer from Texas A&M, he had a well informed idea of what USC was like.
E.J. Price from Georgia visited USC in 2015 not thinking it would amount to much, and ended up signing with the Trojans. He was rated as the No. 10 OT and the state of Georgia’s No. 11 overall prospect in the 2016 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Pete Carroll always felt the guys who took visits to USC would at the very least tell others how great it was in Los Angeles. Often times recommending their younger friends visit. Hard to argue Pete’s wrong.
SS, enough of the DBs n WRs. When we gonna get the DL studs? Why is Aydin Breland on the Ducks campus and not ours?
Breland hasn’t been on the Oregon campus more than USC’s for starters. And I have no idea about the other part. That’ll require a fortune teller. Sorry.
SS, without giving any numbers or specific names, do you believe USC fans, but more importantly USC coaches, will be happy with where the verbal commitments are for the 2024 Class by 4th of July?
Once kids start taking official visits and more make plans to commit, we’ll be able to answer questions like yours. There are guys we know are planning to announce in June and July, but just don’t know what the outcome will be as of May 22.
Then there are guys like Dre’lon Miller who I believe is likely to commit to USC June 29, but he’ll still go visit Texas A&M, Texas and LSU. A&M gonna throw a lot of money at him to sign with the Aggies….that’s a given.
Lincoln Riley and his staff had a lot of success from the 2022 June Official Visits and I’m sure they’ll be disappointed if they don’t have success again this year.
Are you more positive about Myles Davis and Braylon Conley after their visits?
USC clearly made a big impact on both those guys, but they still have several visits left to take. If he had a date set for a commitment, I’d likely submit a USC prediction for Davis. I’ll see Conley in a few hours and get a better idea where he’s at. USC feels good about both after their visits, but we all know there’s an eternity left to before anyone signs.
Based on what you saw in Spring Ball, which of the Freshman running backs will be ahead on the depth chart come Aug 28th?
I’m expecting Quinten Joyner to be that freshman running back.
Any word on how the visit from Obinna Onwuka went?
Visit went great, just not sure he’s a top target for the Trojans.
“I saw a lot of great resources for their players that amazed me and L.A. is a great city to be in,” said Onwuka Sunday night. “But the recruiting process is never an easy or a fair ball game anyway. I’ll keep you guys updated.”

Are there a few out of state recruits that are visiting USC this summer that not many of us know much about that you hear have a really good shot at ending up at USC?
Y’all know about everyone at this point.
How would you rank RB Jason Brown from Washington among the Texas RB’s?
I’d rank the Texas backs USC seriously pursuing higher than Brown. Taylor Tatum, Bryan Jackson and Nathaniel Palmer. This doesn’t mean Brown isn’t really good….need to be clear on that. Inevitably, that’s the conclusion made by some.
What’s your take on NLRB ruling? Is it good or bad in the long-term?
I just think it’s an inevitability….and more likely than not, a good thing for the athletes.
As we begin to age out of the groups that grew up watching USC have success, how much do high schoolers know about USC? Do you find that they know more about Oregon or have a general lack of P12 knowledge?
I’m continually impressed how strong the USC brand remained during the end of the Clay Helton era. USC is still getting mileage out of Reggie Bush.
What, if any, impact do you think the AD status has on recruiting? And do you have any potential candidates you’d like to see USC consider?
I doubt one recruit has spent any time on the the USC athletic director topic. And unfortunately, I don’t have a list of any potential candidates. Erik McKinney will handle that though.
I know 2025 is a long way out, but just curious if USC has interest in Murrieta Valley ’25 QB Bear Bachmeier? In your opinion, which local ’25 QBs should we be pursuing?
I’ve heard nothing about USC looking at Bear Bachmeier at this point, but there is interest in Husan Longstreet from Corona Centennial. But I haven’t really spent much time on 2025 quarterbacks.
