It has been about a month since Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas four-star receiver Chance Robinson committed to the Miami Hurricanes, and the talented pass-catcher believes his relationship with the staff has only grown stronger since then.
“It’s been the same thing about everything regarding football and family,” Robinson told CaneSport. “It makes me feel good and makes me feel trusted. I can trust them, and the connection I have with them is different from any school in the country, and that’s all I can ask for.”
The No. 133 overall prospect in the 2024 class according to the On3 Industry Ranking, who is nearing the end of his junior year, is excited to get to Coral Gables but wants to finish his high school career strong with his St. Thomas Aquinas squad.
“I’m feeling good, and it’s good to have a family on the next level,” Robinson said. “Right now I’m just focused on loving everyone here right now at St. Thomas Aquinas and doing what I can while I’m still here while loving Miami at the next level too.”
With the Hurricanes 2024 class coming together, the 6-foot-1, 180-pounder is excited to see his class begin to take shape and wants like-minded prospects to join him in the group.
“I just want workers,” Robinson said. “I know those boys are going to work, and I’m coming into work to be that guy as well.”
To the South Florida prospects Miami is recruiting, Robinson who has an On3 NIL Valuation of $113,00 has a simple message to his fellow Floridians as well.
“Stay home and let’s change something,” he added.
Robinson is still hearing from other programs
Despite being committed to Miami, Robinson is still being heavily recruited by both Florida and Penn State, two programs that were among his top schools before his pledge to the ‘Canes.
Although Robinson stated that he is still firm with his commitment to the Hurricanes, he will take an official visit to both programs and explained why.
“I’m taking an official visit to both of those schools as well as Miami,” Robinson said. “That’s just me enjoying the process. Everyone gets a chance to enjoy it (recruiting process), and I want to enjoy it while I have it left. Miami knows they’re still my family, and I just want to go out and see things just as much as everybody else.”
CaneSport’s take
Robinson has mentioned that he will make official visits to other programs since his commitment to Miami, so the news comes as no surprise to many. Hearing that your top commit intends to take official visits to other programs may raise some concern, but Robinson says he has no plans of flipping his commitment whatsoever.
“Miami is my home and my dream, so I’m locked in,” Robinson said.
