NASCAR changes Cup Series qualifying procedure at Iowa Speedway after rain delay
With rain coming through the area, NASCAR had to make a choice at Iowa Speedway and alter qualifying for the Cup Series. There will only be a single round with Group A and Group B alternating their positions throughout the field.
Usually, the Cup Series has Group A and B qualifying. The five fastest from those groups go to the final round to fight over the top-10 spots. There are still groups but things are a little different today in the NASCAR Cup Series at Iowa.
The five fastest from Group A and B will make up the top-10 based off of their times. Each driver gets two laps to qualify if they choose to do so. After the top-10 is set, drivers from Group A and B will alternate positions until the field is completely set.
This is a developing story…
