Notebook: QB Dayton Raiola throws at Nebraska’s Friday Night Lights Camp

As his brother Dylan did in 2021, quarterback Dayton Raiola threw at Nebraska’s Friday Night Lights Camp in Lincoln.

This is the second straight year the 2026 signal-caller has participated in NU’s FNL Camp under head coach Matt Rhule.

Dayton Raiola also participated in the 2023 camp, but it was under a much smaller spotlight because his older brother Dylan was committed to Georgia. He eventually switched his commitment to Nebraska in December.

Every time Dayton Raiola steps into Memorial Stadium, you can see his physical gains as a young quarterback.

He showed high-level arm talent and footwork as he threw inside Memorial Stadium with the Husker coaching staff.

He picked up an offer from NU back in Oct. of 2022. Now Raiola’s attention is on his junior season, where he hopes to take over the starting quarterback at national powerhouse Buford.

On Friday, it was a family affair for the Raiola’s, as Dylan, Dominic, Dayton and Yvonne were all present for the camp and the official visitor weekend.

Ren Brown and Kaden Snyder lead OL group

There was a strong group of offensive linemen at Friday’s camp.

2025 Stanton prospect Ren Brown worked out for the Husker staff. He’s fresh off an official visit to Oregon State. He also has an offer from Texas Tech. Offensive line coach Donovan Raiola spent a lot of time working out Brown.

Salina (Kan.) Cental 2026 offensive lineman Kaden Snyder was another name that had a lot of eyes on him.

The 6-foot-5, 255-pound Snyder already has offers from K-State, Kansas, Arkansas, and Wisconsin. One would think the Huskers could be next to join that group.

On3’s early Industry Rankings for Kansas have Snyder as the No. 2 prospect in the state for 2026.

2027 Lee’s Summit (Mo.) offensive lineman Zach Harsha is another prospect who worked out on Friday to keep tabs on.

Trio of defensive backs jump out on Friday

There were three defensive backs on Friday who are worth tracking.

The first one was 2025 Kansas City (Mo.) Staley cornerback RJ Collins. He’s been clocked at 10.56 seconds in the 100 and 21.23 seconds in the 200-meter dash. Secondary coach Evan Cooper pulled him aside in the stadium to do extra drills on Friday.

He captured the state title in the 200 and was third in the 100. Collins holds several top FCS offers, including South Dakota State and North Dakota State.

2025 Lincoln East cornerback Mikale Ford also worked out on Friday. He’s the son of former Husker basketball player Kedrick Ford. He, too, has offers from several top FCS schools, including NDSU and SDSU.

Another name to watch from the in-state is 2026 Omaha North prospect Darion Jones. He’s the younger brother of 2024 Husker recruit Donovan Jones. Cooper also pulled him aside on Friday.

After a great camp and amazing conversation with @CoachABohl and @JaySawvel I am blessed to receive an offer from the University of Wyoming! pic.twitter.com/PVz3z6GXvv
