Ranking Oregon’s Most Important Weekend Visitors, June 14-16 Edition
It’s another big weekend of official visits for Dan Lanning and company in Eugene, as the Ducks prepare to host their second of three groups of official visitors.
I wanted to do something new and dive into where each visitor ranks in importance heading into this weekend. To be clear, if someone is lower on this list I’m not saying they’re not important, there’s different factors and circumstances in each recruitment.
1. LB Noah Mikhail (La Verne, CA)
Analysis: This one seems like a no-brainer No. 1 for me. Oregon is battling Texas A&M and USC here for their top linebacker target in the 2025 cycle. I don’t think USC is as big of a threat as Mike Elko and A&M but you can never underestimate the hometown angle.
Even so, I think Oregon has every intention of closing on Mikhail this weekend with a commitment date set for June 30.

2. TE Linkon Cure (Goodland, KS)
Analysis: It’s a defensive-heavy group for the Ducks and I think Cure has to be the biggest name on offense that will be in town. Given that Oregon is losing both of its starting tight ends after the 2024 season, Cure is a massive priority. He’s got an elite skill set that would open up a ton of options for Will Stein on offense.
The Ducks trail Kansas State heading into the weekend but they are still very much in the mix. Texas A&M has a shot as well with their Collin Klein connection.
**Is Oregon gaining ground with Linkon Cure ahead of his official visit?**
3. RB Jordon Davison (Santa Ana, CA)
Analysis: Davison has been and still is the No. 1 running back target for Oregon this cycle. That said, the Ducks already have Dierre Hill Jr. in the fold and it’s not nearly as hard to find elite running backs as it is to find game-changing tight ends—-which is why I have him at No. 3 below Cure.
This one still sounds like it’s Oregon vs. Ohio State and the Ducks will get their shot to make a major move this weekend. I think he’s closer to a decision than some may believe. No decision date is set but he’s heading to Columbus for his official visit next weekend.
4. LB Gavin Nix (Bradenton, FL)
Analysis: Nix is the other top linebacker in town alongside Mikhail this weekend and there aren’t many other linebackers this cycle the Ducks are really in the mix for. That said I think he’s a major priority for this staff as they look to continue pushing into Florida.
He’s had a lot of great things to say about Oregon previously and linebackers coach Brian Michalowski went out to see him in person during the spring evaluation period. The Ducks are battling the likes of Miami and Florida State here among others.
5. S Omarion Robinson (Little Rock, AR)
Analysis: Robinson is one of the top defensive back targets for Chris Hampton this cycle and I think the Ducks have a better shot at him than most people think. Despite the distance, it seems like Oregon is right there with Oklahoma, who will get the last official visit before he comes off the board on June 29.
Like I’ve been saying for a while now, I think Jonah Williams is going to be a tough pull out of Texas and with Faheem Delane off the board to Ohio State, I think Robinson has become a significantly bigger priority for this staff. Robinson also has elite ability as a returner on special teams.
**Oregon making a push for Omarion Robinson ahead of commitment**
6. OL Douglas Utu (Las Vegas, NV)
Analysis: Utu is one of the biggest names along the offensive line out West this cycle and the Ducks could use some recent momentum at the position to improve their standing here. He’s the only offensive lineman that’s visiting this weekend, which I think is by design, as he’ll likely get plenty of one-on-one time with A’lique Terry.
Utu may be Oregon’s top target for a center this cycle and it appears he’s already taken an official visit to Nebraska.
7. DL Josiah Sharma (Folsom, CA)
Analysis: I think Sharma and Odom could almost be interchangeable at this point in terms of where you’d rank them on this list. I’ll put Sharma here because he’s pretty much the consensus interior defensive lineman on the West Coast, which makes him a big name for the Ducks, think along the lines of Aydin Breland and Jericho Johnson last cycle.
I’m not saying he’s that caliber of a player yet, but people I’ve spoken with are sky-high on his potential at the next level. What helps the Ducks here is that they recently hosted him for an unofficial visit not too long ago, so the frequency of his trips is a positive at the very least.
Oregon is battling Texas and Alabama here and it looks like the Crimson Tide will get the last official visit.
8. DL Trajen Odom (Matthews, NC)
Odom is another big big target for Oregon along the defensive line. I think the staff has been working the West Coast angle in this recruitment seeing that he’s originally from Inglewood. A return out West definitely looks like it’s in the cards here but Ohio State feels like they’re emerging as the biggest competition for Tony Tuioti, Dan Lanning and Tosh Lupoi here.
Georgia is also worth a mention since they’re an NFL factory. Fortunately for the Ducks they’ve been in on him for a while so look for them to put the full-court press on this weekend.
9. CB Na’eem Offord (Birmingham, AL)
*Ohio State commit*
Offord is a huge visitor for Oregon as he’s from the Southeast and he’s verbally committed to the Buckeyes. He’s on the heels of official visits to Auburn and Alabama but is saying all the right things about being locked in with Ohio State.
Maybe he likes Oregon more than he’s letting on, as he was quick to schedule an official visit after he made it out to Eugene for an unofficial visit in the spring. I placed him lower on the list because I think this is more of a long play for the coaching staff if he indeed ends up flipping down the line.
10. CB Dorian Brew (Conroe, TX)
I list Brew at the bottom here because I think Oregon has a lot of work to do in this recruitment. He’s originally from Ohio and just moved to Texas last season, so the Buckeyes have obviously been in the mix for a long time here. He also has strong family ties since his mother is in the hall of fame in Columbus as a track star, so this certainly feels like an uphill battle for Oregon.
Texas is also in the mix and both schools will get official visits after the Ducks this weekend. Kind of like Offord, I think this is a long play and the Buckeyes probably lead for Brew.
