Latest on South Carolina’s unrevealed #WelcomeHomes

With so much activity going on with South Carolina athletics, it could be easy for Gamecock fans to lose track of where things stand with Shane Beamer’s 2025 recruiting class.

Everytime USC lands a football commitment, Beamer sends out his patented “#WelcomeHome” post on X (formerly known as Twitter).

How many unrevealed #WelcomeHomes are there?

The answer is three.

One popped back in April, the weekend of the South Carolina spring game.

While the Gamecocks netted four public commitments in the last few days, there are two additional silent commitments from the official visit weekend that have not yet gone public.

When could the commitments be revealed?

The Gamecocks’ latest commitment came from Florida tight end Preston Douglas, who was one of the unannounced pledges stemming from the weekend.

According to sources, another one of the silent #WelcomeHomes could become public in the next few days.

Another – the commitment from back in the spring – is an unknown. The Gamecocks are still in a good position, but it could really happen at any time between now and the end of the cycle.

Beyond that, the remaining one is expected to happen later this summer.

There are many players from the 2025 cycle that the Gamecocks appear to be in a good position for at this time.

GamecockCentral.com has On3 RPM picks in for JUCO DL Zavion Hardy, Virginia DB Kendall Daniels, and four-star EDGE Jared Smith. The latter has already taken an official visit to Columbia.

Some other top targets that the Gamecocks are in a good spot for have laid out decision dates.

Four-star defensive back Lagonza Hayward, who took an official visit to Columbia this past weekend, plans to announce his choice on July 27.

In-state offensive lineman Shed Sarratt out of Gaffney has outlined June 14 as his commitment date. Local product AJ Brand out of Irmo – on USC’s board as a defensive back – will make his pledge to a school on June 23.

Linebacker AJ Holloway also officially visited the Gamecocks last weekend and has a remaining OV to Georgia Tech this weekend. He told GamecockCentral.com on Sunday that he planned to announce in around a week’s time.
