The latest on Texas LB offer and June 14-16 official visitor Jonathan Cunningham

Inside Texas caught up with On3 Industry Ranking four-star and Fort Worth (Texas) North Crowley linebacker Jonathan Cunningham following an a.m. workout for the latest info ahead of his official visit to Texas this weekend.

Cunningham confirmed he’s on for his trip to Austin and that he talks to defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski and linebackers coach Johnny Nansen often. Cunningham said he loves talking with Nansen because he’s always trying to provide new information in order to better Cunningham’s game. Nansen is the type of coach Cunningham said he can see himself playing for because he knows he’ll be developed under Nansen’s tutelage.

Cunningham just took a visit to Utah, his first trip in June. He officially visited TCU in early May. He has his trip to Texas this weekend. He also has SMU, Missouri, Oklahoma State, and Arizona State also in contention.

IT will catch up with Cunningham more following this weekend’s trip.

Relationships will factor in Cunningham’s decision

When Inside Texas stopped by North Crowley in May, Cunningham explained what one of the biggest factors will be in his decision.

“Relationships mostly, where I can see myself playing at the highest level, and where I can be developed outside of football,” he said.

Cunningham is ranked as the No. 376 overall prospect, the No. 41 linebacker, and the No. 60 player in Texas in the On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.

On3 ranks Cunningham as the No. 43 linebacker and the No. 75 player in Texas.

TCU currently leads in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 41.3 percent chance of landing Cunningham. Texas follows with at 24.3 percent chance followed by Utah at 15.7 percent. SMU follows at 8.9 percent, then Baylor at 4.7 percent. No other school is above one percent. There have not been any expert predictions in the RPM for Cunningham yet.
