Nebraska basketball to host 2025 4-star center Tommy Ahneman

With summer now here, Nebraska basketball’s attention shifts to prioritizing its upcoming 2025 recruiting class. The Huskers hit the ground running by locking up an unofficial visit with a top-50 recruit.
HuskerOnline confirmed that NU will host West Fargo, North Dakota, center Tommy Ahneman next week. The four-star prospect will visit Lincoln on Monday, June 17.
The 6-foot-11, 240-pounder has seen his recruitment skyrocket this summer. On3 recently rated him as the nation’s No. 9 center for the 2025 class, and he’s gained offers from Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, Northwestern, and Penn State.
There are simply not a lot of players over the last few recruiting cycles that you can set up on the block, feed an entry pass, and be confident they can get a bucket,” On3 Senior National Basketball Recruiting Analyst Jamie Shaw wrote. “Tommy Ahneman is that guy.”

Ahneman unofficially visited Minnesota last week and has future trips scheduled to Creighton and Wisconsin.
As a junior, he led Sheyenne to a North Dakota Class 2A state title. Ahneman averaged 20.3 points, 13.3 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game, earning North Dakota Gatorade State Player of the Year honors.
Fred Hoiberg and the Huskers have six available scholarships for the 2025 class.
