On-campus recruiting is heating up for Purdue with official visits in June.
The staff already has six commitments in the Class of 2025 in what’s expected to be a smaller class … in the 14-18 range. Let’s check in–position-by-position–on how Purdue is recruiting in the 2025 cycle.
Next up: Offensive line.
Current situation
Offensive line coach Marcus Johnson inked six linemen for the Class of 2024: JCs Jaekwon Bouldin and Rod Green along with high school players Max Parrott, John Randle, Jordan King and Jaden Ball.
Plus, Purdue imported four portal linemen: T Joshua Sales* (Indiana), T Corey Stewart* (Ball State), G/T Joey Tanona* (Notre Dame) and G/T DJ Wingfield* (New Mexico).
Add it all up: Purdue has brought in 10 new linemen.

Here’s a look at the o-linemen set to take OVs–or who have–in June.

Key personnel expected back in 2025
Purdue is set to see the eligibility of C Gus Hartwig expire after the season. The staff also will lose Stewart and Wingfield–both projected to start at tackle and guard, respectively–after the 2024 season along with G Jalen Grant (Bowling Green) and G Luke Griffin (Missouri), who arrived from the portal prior to 2023. That’s five departures.
The 2025 line should be led by Marcus Mbow and Mahamane Moussa, though Mbow could go pro early. It will be interesting to see how players like Bakyne Coly, Joey Tanona, Jimmy Liston and Jaden Ball develop this fall.
Who will snap the ball in 2025? Who will be the left tackle? A guard will be needed.
My take
There isn’t a big need for much help for a position that was infused with 10 players this past offseason. So, look for Purdue to take three, maybe four, linemen … if they’re ones the staff wants.
There has been a concerted effort to get bigger up front since Ryan Walters has taken over. Mission: Accomplished. This is a front that did a solid job last year. But, a big issue remains: Being physical in short-yardage situations. Can Purdue get that one or two tough yards, especially in the red zone?
Whitset is already committed, so one spot is taken. Logic would say Gorin is leaning to Purdue, where his dad Brandon played during the Drew Brees era. But Gorin is going to go through the process. After that? It’s difficult to tell who may commit.
Odoms is an upper-level player who may be tough to land. Cluff seemed to enjoy his visit; he’s down to Baylor, Memphis and Purdue. It’s thought the staff feels good about Cluff?
Jones? We shall see. Purdue made a recent offer to Koul Koul, who has yet to lock in an OV but will. His others best offers are Boston College and Iowa State. Purdue would seemingly be his favorite. We shall see.
Taren Hedrick committed to Ole Miss last weekend and will not be coming for an OV, as was scheduled for later this month. Purdue also saw Kevin Peay pledge last weekend, to Georgia Tech. He also isn’t expected to come for a previously scheduled OV June 19-21, though a slight possibility remains. Stay tuned.
This is trending to be–as mentioned earlier–a three or four-man o-line class for Purdue. That’s about normal.
