Joshua Moore wowed by Miami official visit, updates announcement timeline: “Everything was amazing”

Pembroke Pines (Fla.) West Broward four-star receiver Joshua Moore has been one of Miami’s top receiver targets in this class for most of the 2025 class. So when he arrived in Coral Gables this weekend for his official visit, the Hurricanes were sure to make the 6-foot-4, 205-pound receiver feel like their biggest recruiting priorities.

Florida made a strong push for Moore on his official visit to Gainesville last weekend, but Miami pulled out all the stops for the No. 57 overall prospect in the On300 and No. 9 receiver on his Friday-to-Sunday trip. Moore has not taken as many visits to Coral Gables as some other top local prospects, but the quality of his time on campus has been enough to keep Miami near the top of his recruitment.

Coming out of this OV weekend Moore said that “Everything went amazing. When we first got here they said they wanted to make it seem like a vacation more than about football. It was amazing, had a lot of fun, learned a lot of new things. I loved it.”

Florida State, who he’ll take an official visit to next weekend, and Georgia have also been near the top for the blue-chip wideout.

“I’ll be looking for the same thing – I want to come, feel at home, see what the coaches are like in the film room, (discuss) development,” Moore said.

Moore named Miami, Georgia, Florida and Florida State as his top schools last month and has felt like a major priority to all four programs. But Miami raised the bar this weekend.

“They showed me it’s all a big brotherhood, family,” Moore said. “If we all stick together and stay home we make The U great again.”

Moore says he will make a decision at some point after all his official visits but that even after an announcement that he will likely entertain other schools into the fall.

“Development, quarterback (play) and just family, a brotherhood (are key for my decision),” Moore said, adding that he spoke with Hurricanes QB commit Luke Nickel and that he “was real nice, got to know him and his family – he’s a really good player and quick on his feet, smart.”

CaneSport’s Take

Miami is aiming high with receivers in this recruiting class after landing a trio of blue-chip wideouts last fall (Joshisa Trader, Ny Carr and Chance Robinson). Moore is the second blue-chip receiver Miami has hosted for an official visit after hosting Tyler Williams last weekend, and the Canes still plan to host five-star Jaime Ffrench and four-star Vernell Brown III later this month. Cortez Mills, who Miami is currently battling Clemson for, is also a major target. Moore was wowed on this visit, so UM has put itself in a good spot here. “It’s beautiful,” Moore summed up. “I took it all in – I’m close to home. I just have to stay focused.”
