5-star OL Petty headlines first official visit weekend of June for Tennessee

5-star OL Petty headlines first official visit weekend of June for Tennessee

Tennessee will host six official visitors this weekend, with five-star Roswell (Ga.) Fellowship Christian School offensive tackle headlining the talent group of visitors. Volquest takes a look at each visitor as the weekend amps up.

5-star OT Josh Petty

Josh Petty has taken an official visit to Stanford and Georgia Tech already in the process, and Tennessee gets the next chance with the elite big man. He recently narrowed his focus to five schools, including Georgia Tech, Florida State, Ohio State, Stanford, and Tennessee.

Coming into the weekend, the Seminoles have had momentum for some time, but Tennessee has some things working in its favor to allow them a real opportunity to make a move. Petty grew up a fan of the Vols, and he has connected well with some current commits in this class, and other top targets for Tennessee, such as fellow five-star David Sanders.

4-star EDGE Cortez Harris

Cortez Harris is one the Vols have kept tabs on for some time, and as a pure pass-rusher, he is an intriguing prospect with room to grow into his frame and become a dynamic edge defender. The Riverdale Baptist (Md.) standout has over 20 Division 1 offers, but he is currently only set to see three schools in the month of June on official visits. After Tennessee, he will travel to Maryland next week, then Penn State the following week.

Hawaiian Safety Aiden Manutai

Talented Hawaiian Safety Aiden Manutai makes his way to campus for the first time this weekend. He has already been on a couple of official visits in the process, including Arizona and Cal. The next three weekends will be crucial in his process, as he will see Tennessee, Nebraska, then Washington.

Manutai has built a solid relationship with Tim Banks throughout the process, and the Vols will look to build some momentum this weekend around that as he learns more about the culture and his fit on campus. We believe the talented safety prospect would like to make a decision before the end of July.

Texas DL Commit Brandon Brown

Eau Gallie (Fla.) defensive lineman Brandon Brown has been committed to Texas since December. However, he has continued to take visits during the process while not saying much about his recruitment. Brown took an official visit to LSU last weekend, and the Tigers certainly made a move in his recruitment. Tennessee gets their shot this weekend before he heads back to Texas next weekend, then USC or Miami to end the month as he works to make a final decision.

New Jersey EDGE Jayden Loftin

This will mark the second trip to Knoxville for Jayden Loftin, and he is excited to learn more about the program itself during this weekend’s visit. This will also mark his second official visit in the process. Loftin was at Wisconsin last weekend, and after this weekend, he is expected to see nearby Syracuse and Penn State to end the month. Loftin continues to eye making a decision sometime ahead of his senior season.

Ohio Defensive Lineman Brandon Caesar

Brandon Caesar has been to Tennessee a couple of times now, and he returns for his first official visit in the process. The Cleveland Heights standout has been quiet in the process, and it remains unclear what other schools he will see during the month of June. He holds over 20 offers currently, and he has continued to look at multiple schools in his process, despite not being able to take many visits to this point.
