Michigan State offers 2025 DB Aydan West as he works to set official visit
Michigan State offered class of 2025 defensive back Aydan West, of Gaithersbug (MD) Quince Orchard High School, as cornerbacks coach Demetrice Martin extended the offer on June 4. West (6-1, 180) holds other offers from Penn State, Duke, Pittsburgh, and others.
West is ranked a three-star, the No. 905 overall recruit in the 2025 On3 Industry Rankings. He is also ranked the No. 76 cornerback, and the No. 26 recruit in Maryland.
West Virginia, Penn State, Wake Forest, Duke, Cincinnati and Virginia currently make up his top list of schools. Michigan State immediately joins the list, West tells SpartanMag.com.
“Michigan State is doing great things,” West said. “They are showing a lot of love. We are making plans right now about my official visit. As of right now, we are thinking June 21-23.”
“I’m hoping to get a glimpse of that Michigan State tradition,” West continued. “I want to get a fast understanding of how I would like the school and the coaches. I would love to get with the team and see if I could see myself in the trenches with them the next three to four years.”
The Michigan State staff led by Martin made a strong impression while extending the offer. West first heard from Spartan offensive line coach Jim Michalczik as he stopped by his school earlier this spring to scout teammate Tristan Pierre. West’s first time speaking with Martin was during the offer.
“Today was actually their first time contacting me,” West said. “Other than when their offensive line coach came up to the school to see a player on my o-line,” West said. “He said he liked my look and liked how I talked. (Michalczik) said he was going to show the DB coach my film. Today, he looked at it and said he was sold on my film and loved what he saw. He said he needs a guy like me in his room.”
“They loved my footwork, my speed, my confidence, my leadership, and just my passion for the game.”
