2027 QB Brady Edmunds on receiving a Texas offer, Elite Camp experience

2027 Huntington Beach (Calif.) quarterback Brady Edmunds visited Texas in March to see the Longhorns, and the trip inspired him to return to the 40 Acres on Saturday for Texas’ Elite Camp. His performance in front of Steve Sarkisian and AJ Milwee earned an offer Edmunds had looked forward to for quite some time.

“It means a lot. This is a relationship I’m building with Coach Milwee and Coach Sark ever since December of last year,” Edmunds said Saturday. “To finally hear those words, something you’ve been working at, it means a lot.”

How did Edmunds think he performed at the camp?

“I do what I’ve been doing,” Edmunds said. “Finally being able to throw in front of Coach Sark, I feel like that helped quicken the process a little bit.”

As a freshman at Huntington Beach, the 6-foot-5, 200 pound Edmunds was 164-for-302 for 2691 yards and 24 touchdowns over 12 interceptions. He added two rushing yards on the ground. Edmunds also made seven appearances on Huntington Beach’s varsity basketball team.

Will Edmunds be able to make it to Austin around his HBHS Oilers schedule this fall?

“Definitely, I’m not sure which game yet but I’ll definitely be out here for a game in the fall.”

After his Texas visit, he saw Tennessee. He’ll head home, go to Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, and Notre Dame, head home again, then see TCU, Oklahoma, Alabama, LSU, and others. He currently has 17 offers from schools like Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State, Oregon, and SMU.

Is there a top school at this juncture?

“My recruitment’s early on still, so I don’t really have a top whatever yet,” Edmunds said. “Texas, obviously, they’re going to jump up there being they’re one of the top schools in the nation.”

Edmunds is unranked but figures to be a top prospect once networks release 2027 rankings.
