IOL Kaden Strayhorn saw ‘everything that Columbus has to offer’ on his official visit to Ohio State

Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy interior offensive lineman Kaden Strayhorn is working toward a summer commitment. Before he can get there, he has to take his official visits and his summer visits kicked off with a trip to Ohio State.

It was Strayhorn’s second time in Columbus. His first was last summer when he took part in camp and earned his offer from the Buckeyes.

“It was great to get back and this visit was really good for me to be able to see the campus and everything that Columbus has to offer,” Strayhorn told On3. “Some things that stood out were being in the stadium, my meeting with coach Ryan Day, talking with coach Justin Frye and getting to see the entire campus.”

Coach Day and Strayhorn had a long meeting on day one and spent time together at different times throughout the remainder of the visit. Strayhorn loved Day’s message and felt like a priority to him.

Strayhorn likes coach Day a lot, but coach Frye is why the Buckeyes are a strong contender in this race.

“I think very highly of coach Frye and that is where it starts with Ohio State. Since I camped last summer and got the offer, he has been consistent. He is big on teaching and the Ohio State program has always been one I have been interested in. Coach Frye has a great resume, he is about pushing his guys and I like who he is as a coach a lot.”

Ohio State is a strong contender for Strayhorn

Colorado, LSU and Michigan are schools Strayhorn listed as competition for Ohio State. He has more visits to take and he will look into each option before choosing one, but the Buckeyes

“This visit helped Ohio State a lot in terms of me being able to actually see everything they have to offer up close,” Strayhorn said. “They checked all of my boxes. Their message was that there’s no better place to win the Remington than Ohio State and they are very high up on my list after this visit.”

He has an open mind heading into the final stretch and he knows what he is looking for.

“It will be about the room they have. I am looking at the offensive line groups, the development under those coaches and I believe all three of the coaches at these schools can develop me. It will be about how I feel on campus too. The coaches, the people, the development and the culture all will factor into my commitment.”
