Michigan State wide receivers coach Courtney Hawkins and his assistant Cordale Grundy took advantage of Thursday’s mega showcase at Wayne State by identifying and evaluating prospects from across the country. The pair extended a couple of new offers following the showcase.
2026 Winter Garden (Fla.) West Orange wide receiver Larry Miles received their first offer of the day. The rising junior received additional offers from Indiana, Purdue and Marshall following a strong camp performance.
A three-star prospect, Miles is the No. 87 prospect from Florida and the No. 108 wide receiver in the 2026 class, per the On3 Industry Rankings.
“I felt like I had a really good day,” Miles said following the showcase. “It was good to ball out and get some offers.”
Miles’ trainor accompanied him on the long trip from Florida to Michigan. A few other Florida prospects joined them as well.
“My trainor wanted us to all come up here and compete because he knew this was a good showcase and we could get seen by a lot of coaches,” Miles said.
Miles, who grew up in SEC country, has seen the most interest from northern schools. He holds additional offers from Boston College, Iowa, Iowa State, Syracuse, Connecticut and Arkansas.
“I don’t mind leaving Florida or the south, really,” Miles said. “I just want to find a school that fits me and where I can ball out.”
The 6-foot, 170-pound receiver held his own against some of the top defensive backs in the country at the showcase. He was crisp with his routes and displayed solid speed and acceleration.
“Coach Hawk and coach Grundy told me they really liked my routes,” Miles said. “They told me I was really polished as a route runner for my age, so that definitely stuck out to them.”
Miles is a great example of a prospect taking advantage of the opportunities presented at these kinds of showcases. Miles had no prior communication with Michigan State before Thursday, but a strong showing put him on the Spartans’ radar.
“No, I hadn’t heard from MSU before today,” Miles said. “I feel like I was kind of under-the-radar for whatever reason, but after today, I think that’ll be different.”
Miles departed for Florida after the showcase ended. While his summer plans are up in the air, there’s a chance that he could return to Michigan State for its prospect camp in a couple of weeks.
“I don’t really have a camp schedule right now,” Miles said. “I mostly go where my trainor goes, but coach Hawk did say that he’d love to have me at camp in a few weeks. We’ll figure it out soon, but it’s definitely a possibility.”
