Newsstand: Louisville vs. Notre Dame to stream exclusively on Peacock

Newsstand: Louisville vs. Notre Dame to stream exclusively on Peacock

Since 2021, one of Notre Dame’s home football games has been streamed exclusively on Peacock, NBC’s online network. This year, the Fighting Irish’s game against the Louisville Cardinals got the draw.

It’s the first time the Peacock exclusive is against a power conference team. The first three teams to travel to South Bend for a Peacock-only game were Toledo, UNLV and Central Michigan.

The Cardinals vs. Irish rematch from last fall’s 33-20 Louisville victory kicks off at 3:30 p.m. ET on Sept. 28. Last year’s game signaled the end of Notre Dame’s College Football Playoff hopes. The Irish were never really in the matchup and dropped to 5-2.

This year, there’s a strong chance the Irish will be undefeated at the time of kickoff of the Louisville game if they can get past Texas A&M in College Station in the season-opener. From there, Notre Dame faces Northern Illinois, Purdue and Miami (Ohio) before getting a chance at revenge against the Cardinals.

The Irish have never lost the Peacock exclusive game. The Cardinals probably pose the biggest threat to snapping that streak. They went 10-4 last year in Jeff Brohm‘s first season back at his alma mater.

Fighting Irish quote of the day

“On the official visits, I want to see where I see myself living the next four years. Where can I see myself producing at? Do they have a quarterback that can throw the ball around? Do they have a game plan that fits me? Does that coaching staff see me playing early? All those are factors, but I have to be able to live there. If I can’t live there, then I can’t go there.”
