Shekai Mills-Knight to officially visit Ole Miss June 21
Baylor School (Tenn.) running back Shekai Mills-Knight holds Ole Miss in high regard. It was the first program to offer the three-star prospect and now the Rebels are being rewarded. The 6-foot-2, 210 pounder will take an official visit to Oxford, Miss., June 21.
Kevin Smith offered Mills-Knight almost immediately after seeing him on film in 2023. The Tennessee recruit validated the offer with a breakout junior season for the Division II-AAA runner-up. Even though he missed four games with a high ankle sprain, he finished with over 1,200 all-purpose yards.
The junior running back is originally from Montréal, Quebec. There, he started playing football at eight-years old and never looked back.
“I was raised on the west island, my parents moved from Jamaica and that’s where I started playing,” Mills-Knight said. “There were weight limits when I was younger and at an early age I was deemed too big to carry the ball so you could say it motivated me as I got older to make them pay when I got to run the ball.”

Enrique Davis has been a key piece to the recruitment of Shekai Mills-Knight.
OMSpirit has learned Mills-Knight will bring both his parents down from Canada for his official visit to Ole Miss. Davis, Smith and Lane Kiffin know how big of a deal it is for the entire family to come, much less from 1,300 miles away. The Rebels would love nothing more than to pair Mills-Knight with four-star Ole Miss commit, Akylin Dear.
“This is one of the more-coveted bigger backs in the country,” said Steve Wiltfong, in a recent sit-down with the Ole Miss Spirit. Wiltfong is On3’s Vice President of Recruiting and Transfer Portal. “He’s 6-foot-2, 215 pounds and you look up and down these recruiting rankings, there’s a lot of backs up there that are, like, 190 pounds. He’s the kind of guy people would like to pair with.
“I asked him the programs that are catching his eye at this point in this process, and Ole Miss was one of the first ones he mentioned. Ohio State’s up there. Auburn, Alabama, Oregon and Tennessee — to name a few others. But there’s absolutely no question Ole Miss is one of the frontrunners in this recruitment.”
Ole Miss, Tennessee and Miami are the early frontrunners.
But Mills-Knight received an offer from Michigan earlier this month and it was a big one. He spoke with Wiltfong about it.
“Wish they had offered earlier so I could’ve gone up to see it before the OV weekends,” Mills-Knight said. “Man they’re the defending champs. That means something for sure.”
The Tennessee recruit has also set an official visit to Miami and tells Wiltfong he will “most likely” make it to Ann Arbor as well.
