Five-star defensive lineman Dominick McKinely locks in Ohio State official visit
COLUMBUS — Ohio State continues to roll out the scarlet carpet for June with an ever-growing guest list that certainly rivals some of the other top programs in the country.
The Buckeyes added another name for June in five-star Lafayette (La) Acadiana defensive lineman Dominick McKinley locked in his official visit. The No. 3 defensive lineman and No. 14 overall prospect per On3 will visit the weekend of June 2-4.
McKinley’s official visit will also serve as his debut visit to Ohio State. Defensive line coach Larry Johnson offered the 6-foot-5, 280-pound prospect on February 11 of this year.
“I know everything is gonna be new to me and it’s going to be a great experience,” he told On3’s Sam Spiegelman. “They want me to be the best player I can be.”
Spiegelman placed a prediction on LSU to win out in McKinley’s recruitment and the Tigers hold a commanding lead in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
Ohio State is the first official visit for McKinley this summer. He will then visit Texas A&M, Oklahoma and then Texas.
The Buckeyes don’t have any defensive linemen committed in their 2024 class. They do, however, have two linebackers committed in Garrett Stover and Payton Pierce.
Ohio State holds the No. 2 overall class and the No. 1 class in the Big Ten according to the On3 Industry Team Rankings.
