Bag of Bones: Georgia intel from Cam Newton’s 7-on-7 tournament
Memorial Day brought about Cam Newton’s annual 7-on-7 tournament which means multiple Georgia targets on the field competing.
With that came some noteworthy pieces of recruiting intel. Georgia’s coaches were off this weekend but next weekend could go a long way in shaping the next few classes.
Georgia will host a busy weekend of campers and workouts. The Bulldogs will also kick off a four-week stretch of official visits starting on Friday.
There were multiple Georgia targets that will be in town taking part in 7-on-7 this weekend. Here are some of the tidbits that came out of this weekend.
4-star Georgia RB commit Bo Walker
The Buzz: Walker is committed to the Bulldogs. He’ll be in town for an official visit next weekend. Walker has been a long-time commit and has been high on Georgia for years. There is a bit of an opportunity for a duo of programs. The major flip contenders are Georgia Tech and North Carolina. Both will get official visits from Walker. Dell McGee’s move to Georgia State has had a major impact on the complexion of this recruitment in recent months.
3-star CB Shamar Arnoux
The Buzz: Arnoux will be in town on May 30 for a camp workout. He’s already looking toward an official visit to Georgia. The Bulldogs are a real contender alongside Auburn and a few others. Arnoux sported Georgia gloves this weekend.
3-star WR Sam Turner
The Buzz: Turner will be in town working out next weekend as well. He has an offer from Georgia already. The Bulldogs have seen the space in their class dwindle a bit since Turner’s most recent trip to Athens. Four-star Thomas Blackshear committed to Georgia earlier this month. Turner no longer has an official visit set but remains very interested in the Bulldogs.
3-star CB Mark Manfred
The Buzz: Manfred holds a long list of Power Four offers. Georgia coaches made a trip to Sprayberry to watch spring practices. Manfred grabbed some attention. He’s set to make a trip to Athens next weekend to camp as well.
2026 4-star CB Jorden Edmonds
The Buzz: Georgia offered Edmonds this spring. He will join Manfred in Athens next weekend for camp.
2027 safety Adryan Cole
The Buzz: Cole is one of the most talked about young prospects in the early looks at the class. He will be in Athens on June 12 for camp. Cole already holds multiple Power Four offers. He’s also been to Athens multiple times already as well. This is a name to mark for down the road a bit.
