Tennessee ace AJ Russell suffers apparent injury, leaves SEC Tournament title game after 1 inning

Tennessee Volunteers starting pitcher AJ Russell has left the SEC Tournament title game after pitching just one inning.

Russell, who has battled injuries throughout the season, was seen speaking to a trainer in the dugout following the first inning of the SEC Tournament title game. There, he could be seen touching his pitching elbow. That has led to concerns that he suffered an apparent injury during the first inning. He did not come out for the second inning of the game.

In the first inning, AJ Russell gave up a solo home run to Jared Jones but seemed to be pitching well otherwise. He was also seen going out to the bullpen after being pulled from the game.

This story will be updated.
