Top 100 QB Brady Hart locks in visit, goes in-depth on Michigan offer

Top 100 QB Brady Hart locks in visit, goes in-depth on Michigan offer

Michigan offensive coordinator Kirk Campbell dipped into Florida this cycle and landed a commitment from On300 quarterback Carter Smith.

Now, Campbell is looking to reel in another elite signal-caller out of the Sunshine State in Top 100 2026 Cocoa (Fla.) High prospect Brady Hart, who recently notched an offer from the Wolverines.

“That’s a big one,” Hart said. “They are coming off an awesome season last year, winning the national championship. That staff is pretty much the same. Coach Campbell is an awesome coach, and I’ve really connected with him over these last couple of weeks. That offer was pretty special.”

Hart is now set to make an unofficial visit to Michigan on June 15 and is excited to get his first in-depth look at the program.

“I just want to get a feel for campus, the guys on the team and the coaches,” Hart said. “I want to see Ann Arbor and see if I can fit in. It seems like they have an awesome culture. There is a reason they get big-time recruits to go up north. I’m really excited to be around the staff and the team.”

Campbell saw Hart work out during the spring evaluation period and is making him a top priority on the quarterback board for next cycle.

“We’ve been communicating since the offer, and he seems like an awesome guy,” Hart said. “I’ve connected with him, but it also seems like he knows a lot about the game. He was a huge piece in developing JJ McCarthy. I think they are going to have a great year with him calling plays.”

It’s rare to see a quarterback commit help recruit for the same position for the following cycle, but the aforementioned Smith is doing just that. Smith and Hart competed with each other at the Elite 11 regional in Orlando this offseason and have kept in touch.

“It shows you the type of guys you’ll be around when you are there — guys that aren’t afraid to compete and are going to push you to be better,” Hart said. “I like Carter a lot. I think he’s a really cool kid. He’s a great football player and competitor. I’m excited to get to know him better and talk to him more about Michigan and his recruitment.”

Smith is a dynamic dual-threat quarterback that makes a ton of plays with his feet. On the flip side of the coin, Hart is an athletic pocket passer with an impressive frame at 6-foot-5, 185 pounds.

Hart passed for 3,759 yards and 41 touchdowns en route to leading Cocoa to a state title as a sophomore last season. And he believes he would be a great fit for Michigan’s pro-style offense.

“The biggest thing is development,” Hart said. “Going into an offense where you can get developed for the next level is huge. I think I would fit in well. They showed they can win the big-time games and get their quarterback to the NFL.”

That quarterback, of course, was first round NFL draft pick JJ McCarthy, who was selected 10th overall by the Minnesota Vikings.

“That’s a big thing,” Hart said. “I didn’t know he was going to go that high. That shows a lot of good things about the coaching and the coaching staff. He must have crushed interviews, and his film must have lined up with what NFL scouts were looking for. It’s huge.”

Along with Michigan, Hart holds offers from Florida, Florida State, LSU, Miami, Notre Dame, Oregon, Penn State, Texas A&M and others.

Hart is ranked as the No. 7 quarterback and No. 83 overall recruit nationally, per the On3 Industry Ranking.
