4-star OL Henry Fenuku feels family vibe at SMU
2025 Fort Worth (Tex.) North Crowley four-star offensive lineman Henry Fenuku wrapped up his SMU official visit last weekend. The Mustangs impressed with the family environment around the program.
“Getting united as a family and doing everything together, that really impressed me,” Fenuku told On3. “Being all about family matters to me with where I want to fit and where I want to be. It was a big takeaway just being united.”
SMU offensive line coach Garin Justice and quarterbacks coach D’Eriq King stuck out to the top target.
“Him talking about bonds was amazing. His teaching skills and everything else,” Fenuku said. “Even how we get together. Really, the whole coaching staff is amazing. The quarterback coach, coach King, he’s amazing, too. Just talks to you like a family guy. You don’t get treated different by anybody.”
With 24 top targets on campus, especially having so many from Dallas, it could tee up Fenuku to stay in DFW and be supported by his family each game.
“I’d say it’s like being a good resource to your hometown,” he said. “Also, it’d be good to be a part of something so great and where you come from and how the whole community is going to get together knowing you come from here and you’re going to play for here. It’s amazing, the hometown is going to love it, the family is closer. Pretty sure myself is going to love it, if I come here. It’s going to be amazing.”
Up next for the four-star offensive lineman are official visits to Ohio State next weekend, Missouri on June 7, Georgia on June 14 then USC on June 21. He’s ready to “explore everything” and get to know the cultures over logos.
“I feel like when it feels right, you’ve got to take the step. There are also times when I don’t want to make the wrong the decision. I’m taking a step back and I’ll gather everything at the end of June. As time goes on and it feels right, I’ll do it on the spot.”
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Fenuku is the No. 363 overall prospect in the country and No. 28 interior offensive lineman. Ole Miss leads the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
