Ole Miss ‘in the hunt’ for four-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton
IMG Academy (Fla.) offensive tackle Jordan Seaton has been busy on and off the field since last fall. The 6-foot-5, 295 pound prospect recently transferred from St. John’s College (D.C.) to the Sunshine State football factory after a dominant junior season in the DMV. He then released a Top 14 in March ahead of a busy spring of visits.
But one team who was not mentioned in the top schools list has recently emerged. Ole Miss is now on Seaton’s mind as he heads into the summer.
OMSpirit had a chance to talk with Jordan Seaton about his interest in Ole Miss. The Rebels are making a move.
“Ole Miss is in the hunt,” Seaton said. “And with the way coach (John) Garrison is pushing, Ole Miss can be a real contender.”
The Rebels will need to move quickly if they want to be a real factor. Ohio State is the perceived favorite currently, per Seaton’s On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. Michigan, Penn State and USC are also among the top schools who are trending. Seaton has taken spring trips to Ohio State, Florida State, Miami, USC, Georgia, Virginia Tech, Alabama, Colorado and Florida.
On3 rates Seaton the No. 58th overall prospect. The On3 Industry Ranking has him at No. 57. He is the 5th-ranked offensive tackle in the nation and the 10th overall recruit in the state of Florida.

John Garrison has put plenty of offensive linemen into the NFL. Can this sway four-star Jordan Seaton?
Garrison, a former Nebraska center, has been in the coaching industry for 18 years and counting. His latest stop in Raleigh has been a good one. Garrison coached Ikem Ekwonu to a consensus first-team All-American selection in 2021. He was also a finalist for the Outland Trophy and won the ACC’s Jacobs Blocking Award. He was also a first-team All-ACC selection and was selected 6th overall by the Carolina Panthers in the 2022 NFL Draft.
As a staffer at Nebraska following his playing career, six of Garrison’s former players made it to the NFL. Alex Lewis (Ravens), Brent Qvale (Jets), Spencer Long (Jets), Jerimiah Sirles (Bills), Matt Slausen (Colts) and Zach Sterup (Dolphins) all built off what they learned from Garrison to earn a living as a professional.
Seaton’s former head coach at St. John’s College, Pat Ward, told On3 the 2024 prospect has everything it takes to be successful at the highest level. In the 2021 WCAC title game against Our Lady of Good Counsel (Md.), Ward said Seaton was “dominant against some of the best four-star rushers in the country.”
“All the coaches say I’m a dawg,” Seaton said. “The coaches say I have a mean streak and that I’m physical with a great frame.”

Ole Miss appears to be prioritizing five offensive linemen in the 2024 class.
John Garrison is after four-star Jac’Qawn McRoy and three-stars John Wayne Oliver, Joseph Cryer, Kai Greer and Jude Foster in the 2024 cycle. And now all four, including Oliver, have scheduled their official visits to Oxford, Miss.
McRoy will visit June 2, Greer and Oliver will visit together June 9 and Foster will be in town June 12. Garrison seems to have an idea who the main targets for the class are. I expect the Rebels to move quickly after official visits next month.
Still, the biggest hurdle for the Rebels will be getting Jordan Seaton on campus.
“I’m a winner,” Seaton told On3’s Chad Simmons. “So I want to go to a winning program. I’m not so far as looking for a certain location because wherever’s best for me, as far as school-wise, facility-wise, coach-wise, that’s where I’m gonna choose.
“When I go on the visits, I want to see everything, like the stuff they don’t usually talk about,” he added. “I want to talk to the players. I want to know everything I could know that sometimes people leave out. When I go on these visits, they tell you the first impression is everything, so a good first impression could lead to a lot of good things in the next couple of years.”
