Miami legacy Camdin Portis has the Hurricanes high on his list

Early in April, Camdin Portis visited Miami. He is the son of former Miami running back Clinton Portis, so the 2026 cornerback out of Charlotte (N.C.) Myers Park knows all about the Hurricanes. It is an offer he always wanted, and before leaving that day, he picked up an offer from Mario Cristobal.
He has since added offers from schools like Auburn, Missouri, NC State and West Virginia, and he is open to all schools, but the offer from the Hurricanes definitely means something to him.
“I was very happy to get that offer from Miami,” Portis told On3. “My dad played at Miami, I watched them growing up, so it is an offer I always wanted. The program hasn’t been where it wants to be for a while, but Coach Cristobal is getting some players in and he is getting it back up there.”
Portis could be back in Coral Gables this summer. A trip back to his father’s alma mater for a game in the fall could happen too. The ACC program is high on his list.
“I like Miami a lot. Who doesn’t want to play for Miami? It is in south Florida, there is history, there is a lot to do there and they are starting to build those rooms with players. Miami is definitely a school I like a lot right now.”
UCLA is another school Portis listed as a school of interest. NC State and Penn State are two others. As new offers arrive, he will give each school a shot. Having his father in his corner gives him great support, so he is in no rush to make a decision.
“My dad has told me to take it all in and to be patient,” Portis said. “I am going to take my time and just find the school that has the best scheme and plan for me to be successful in.”
