Ole Miss makes three-star cornerback Major Preston’s Top 6

IMG Academy (Fla.) cornerback Major Preston released his top schools on Saturday. Ole Miss made the top schools list, along with Oklahoma, Missouri, Virginia Tech, Florida and Colorado. The 6-foot-2, 170 pound prospect has already taken visits to Florida, Maryland and Miami and has official visits scheduled to Ole Miss and Virginia Tech.

Virginia Tech is currently trending, per Preston’s On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. Texas, Michigan, Penn State and Syracuse have also extended offers to the rising senior recruit. As a junior, he made 18 tackles in four games for the Ascenders.

Preston recently told On3’s Chad Simmons he will be announcing his commitment July 1.

It seems like Major Preston has a Top 3 of Florida, Ole Miss and Virginia Tech.

“The biggest thing is the relationship between me and the head coach,” Preston said. “We’ve got to be locked in, I’ve got to get a feel for things, how he coaches and just the people around the program, how they do things.”

“Florida, that’s a big school to me being in the SEC and everything else that comes along with it,” Preston told earlier this spring. “They have great people on campus and one of my former teammates (Jerrae Hawkins) plays up there. It’s just a great program with great facilities. It’s built around great people.”

“I’ll say Florida is definitely one of those schools on my list that stands out and is definitely making a push toward my commitment,” he added.
