LSU makes key stops in Texas for top recruits
LSU continues to make its push back into Houston in recruiting. On Friday, the Tigers were back in the talent-rich area to see some top defensive targets.
*** LSU is right in the thick of it for 2025 Missouri City (Tex.) Hightower defensive back Kade Phillips, who is knocking on the door of being a Top 100 prospect for On3. Defensive coordinator Blake Baker and secondary coach Corey Raymond swung through to see the 6-2, 170-pound prospect. The Tigers host him June 14, sandwiched between official visits to Texas A&M and Texas. He took a Baylor visit earlier this spring, but this is shaping up to be a battle among the SEC schools.
*** 2025 Houston (Tex.) North Shore linebacker Charles Ross announced his commitment to LSU in March on Twitter. The On300 prospect and big riser held offers from Baylor, Cal, Houston and others. Baker was back at North Shore to recruit the four-star prospect on Friday. Ross had a big junior season for the state power that advanced to yet another state championship game. Ross was back in Baton Rouge for the LSU Spring Game.
*** Raymond extended an offer to 2026 Conroe (Tex.) safety Xavier Harmon, who is blowing up with offers. There’s a lot of folks down in the Houston area that are high on the 6-2, 183-pound prospect. Keep an eye on this one as LSU has now jumped in with an offer.
