4-star QB Cutter Boley trims list down to a top 5

At this point, Cutter Boley is turning into a household name for the Big Blue Nation. The four-star quarterback out of Lexington Christian Academy will make a decision live on Thursday morning at his high school. Kentucky is trending heavily as the favorite, but other big-name schools are still involved.

Just four days after announcing that he was down to just 10 potential college choices, Boley has already trimmed that list down to five finalists. The 6-foot-5, 200-pound signal-caller announced on Tuesday morning that he’s now considering Kentucky, Florida State, Michigan, Penn State, and Tennessee. Boley removed Alabama, Oregon, Notre Dame, Miami (FL), and TCU from his top list of schools.

Boley has just one official visit locked in as of now, which is to Kentucky the weekend of June 9-11. Although he’s a class of 2025 prospect, he holds enough academic credits to be considered a ’24 recruit and has received approval from the NCAA to take the OV.

“I like that Liam (Coen) is coming back and how they had the offense going with him two years ago,” Boley told On3’s Chad Simmons. “Them being in-state, growing up in Kentucky, it would definitely be cool to play for Kentucky.”

Boley is ranked as the No. 39 overall prospect and the No. 3 QB from the class of 2025, per the On3 Industry Ranking.

With Coen back in the fold as UK’s offensive coordinator, the Wildcats have been the overwhelming favorite to land Boley. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine gives Kentucky a 95.2 percent chance to secure a commitment from the in-state product with five total predictions favoring the ‘Cats.

Boley will announce his choice this Thursday at 11:00 a.m. EST inside LCA. KSR will be hosting that day’s radio show live from the announcement. Expect immediate coverage from the event and some good news for Kentucky football.
