Catching up with Tribe24: 4-star OL Manasse Itete vows to bring strong work ethic to FSU

All the way from California, four-star interior offensive lineman Manasse Itete will be making his way to Florida State on May 27, only two days after he graduates from Central Catholic High School in Modesto.

“I’m very excited to start a new journey with a different group of people and challenging myself every day to compete, and I can’t wait to see what the future will have for me at FSU,” Itete told Warchant.

During his recruitment, the four-star recruit initially committed to the USC Trojans, however Itete flipped to Florida State last July and never looked back.

“The reason why I stick with them (the Seminoles) is because of the people and how they treat me,” Itete said. “Since day one, they were honest with me. They didn’t tell me how good I am, but instead they told me how hard it is going to be. They always kept it 100 percent. And just seeming what Coach (Mike) Norvell is building at FSU is just different, and we can’t go wrong with that.”

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, the 6-foot-4, 290-pound lineman is a top-400 player in the country, as well as a top-30 recruit at his position and a top-30 prospect in California.

Itete does not know yet who his roommate will be at Florida State, but he has already identified some simple goals for the 2024 season.

“Some key points are getting better every day and being the best version of myself on and off the field,” Itete said. “Work hard on and off the field, learn from the oldest [teammates] and coaches, trust the whole staff with everything they do to make players better.”

Itete said he remains very close with offensive coordinator and line coach Alex Atkins, and they have had several discussions about what to expect in Tallahassee.

“As soon as I get to FSU, it’s just working hard every day, getting better every day, and competing at the highest level,” the lineman said.
