UCLA continues to set the pace in the race for 4-star QB Madden Iamaleava

Long Beach (Calif.) Warren quarterback Madden Iamaleava emerged as a top target for Deshaun Foster and the new UCLA staff when they arrived in Westwood. Since Foster took over as the head coach at his Alma Mater, the local four-star has visited twice.

UCLA has been recruiting the No. 135 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking as hard as anyone in recent months. Relationships are in place, trust has been established and Iamaleava has connected with quarterbacks coach Tim White and offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy. Both have NFL experience and that really appeals to Iamaleava.

Alabama had the talented signal caller on campus this spring and the coaches were out to watch him throw recently. USC has been in contact too. Missouri and Nebraska were on his radar too before they added quarterbacks this cycle.

Iamaleava has now locked in his official visit to UCLA for this weekend. He and his family will be back in Westwood May 18-20. The Bruins have been trending for the quarterback in their backyard and I have logged a pick for UCLA on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

There is no decision timeline set, but a source said, “Madden will commit as soon as he is ready. They have been through the recruiting process already with Nico, so they have a plan in place and will commit as soon as they find the right fit.”

UCLA may be that fit and this weekend will be big for both parties.
