On3 four-star Bryant Wesco sets official visits, talks Texas, Oklahoma

2024 Midlothian (Texas) wide receiver Bryant Wesco made his way to Austin for the UIL State track and field meet last weekend. After competing in the triple jump, the On3 four-star caught up with Inside Texas on the latest in his recruitment.

Following a junior season where Wesco had 58 receptions for 1,160 yards and 14 touchdowns, including a 93-yard touchdown reception, his recruiting profile soared. Texas offered earlier this year.

He told Inside Texas he has official visits scheduled to USC on May 18-May 21, Clemson on June 2-June 4, LSU on June 10-June 12, TCU on June 17-June 18, and Tennessee on June 23-June 25.

Texas and Oklahoma are clamoring for official trips as well. UT wide receivers coach Chris Jackson continues to build a solid foundation with the 6-foot-2, 170-pound prospect.

“There’s a chance I could visit Texas,” Wesco told Inside Texas. “Texas is a very well-known school, got a bunch of wide receivers coming in and coming out and going to the league after this season. I think they have a big season ahead of them in 2023.”

Does Steve Sarkisian’s offense and the collection of talent in Austin affect Wesco’s decision?

“Yes, that’s definitely part of it,” said Wesco. “The offense, school’s reputation, how well they put people in the league, and how well they develop receivers.”

Wesco wants to make his decision this summer, preferably before his senior season begins. He’s also a high-level high school triple-jumper and the son of five-time All-American triple jumper Bryant Wesco Sr., who starred at Louisiana Tech. But this decision will come down to a few big factors.

“I want a coach that’s been in and around the league,” Wesco said. “A team with a great reputation, great offense, and a team that helps me build more as a man than football player.”

Wesco is the No. 30 overall prospect and No. 9 wide receiver in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 6 player in Texas. On3 rates Bryant Wesco as the No. 26 overall prospect, No. 6 wide receiver and No. 7 player in Texas.
