Top 25 wing prospect Tounde Yessoufou hearing from Kentucky

Another class of 2025 prospect has been in contact with the new Kentucky men’s basketball coaching staff.

6-foot-6, 210-pound wing Tounde Yessoufou is reportedly hearing from the Wildcats, according to LeagueRDY, along with the likes of Tennessee, Arizona, Texas, UCLA, Southern California, and Stanford. Currently playing for St. Joesph High School out in California, the four-star recruit is ranked as the No. 24 overall junior in the country, per the On3 Industry Ranking.

Yessoufou has taken one official visit so far to Washington back in September. He expects to visit Arizona this summer. We can anticipate Kentucky assistant coach Jason Hart — who hails from California and has coached in the area for over a decade — to lead the charge in this recruitment.

A native of the West African nation of Benin, Yessoufou arrived in California prior to his high school freshman season. He averaged 26.4 points, 12.3 rebounds, 2.1 steals, and 2.9 blocks per game as a freshman for St. Joseph before putting up 27.8 points, 10.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 3.7 steals, and 1.3 blocks a game as a sophomore.

Yessoufou was at his best this past season in 2023-24 with per-game averages of 32.3 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.6 steals, 2.1 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game. For his high school career, he’s shooting 57 percent from the floor, 31 percent from deep, and 69 percent from the line. He’s been suiting on the Nike EYBL AAU circuit during the summers, even playing up on the 17U level since his sophomore year.

Through the first two EYBL sessions this year, Yessoufou is averaging 22 points and 3.3 rebounds per outing for Team WhyNot. He’ll return to action next weekend in Indianapolis where KSR will have boots on the ground to talk with/watch the talented Kentucky target in person.
