Nebraska official visitor preview – May 10th
The Huskers have three very important official visitors in Lincoln this weekend, which includes David Sanders, who is the highest-rated recruit ever to visit Nebraska. We will cover the three official visitors who will be in Lincoln this weekend, as well as the transfer official visitor who starts his visit on Monday.
Here is your official visitor preview:
David Sanders Jr.
Sanders is a very pleasant addition to Nebraska’s official visitor list for this weekend. The consensus five-star offensive tackle is rated as the No. 2 player overall in the 2025 class, the No. 1 offensive tackle in the country, and the top player in North Carolina according to the On3 Industry Ranking. Nebraska has Sanders and his family coming in this weekend. Sanders has pending official visits to Clemson, Georgia, Tennessee, and Alabama.
Broderick Shull
Shull was in Lincoln just three weeks ago, on April 20th, for an unofficial visit. His official visit this weekend is actually his third visit to check out Nebraska. He was also in Lincoln last summer on July 30th for the end of the summer BBQ. Shull said that he needed the visit to Nebraska in April to put the Huskers in a position to get an official visit over Kansas State and Illinois. Shull is the No. 133 player overall in the 2025 class, the No. 10 OT in the country, and the No. 3 player in Oklahoma.
Nicolas Clayton
The Huskers have a pair of bookend tackles in town this weekend and a serious pass rusher in Clayton. Clayton is unrated by On3, but holds offers from UCF, USF, Duke, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Vanderbilt and a handful of others. In his junior campaign, Clayton had 52 total tackles (20 solos and 32 assists), ten quarterback hurries, eight tackles for loss, and three sacks. Clayton has pending official visits set to UCF, Duke, and Tulane.
Caleb Benning
Maybe an unusual name to have so late in the year as an official visitor, but Benning went straight from football and into basketball which led to taking his official visit to Nebraska at a later date. The official visit was topic at Westside High School when the Nebraska coaches saw Benning recently. Don’t overlook the importance of bringing in a commitment, like Caleb, this weekend. Benning, the Husker legacy, will be able to assist in recruiting the 2025 official visitors that will be in Lincoln this weekend.
Jaden Mangham
The former Michigan State Spartan announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal on May 1st. He has set his first three official visits to see Ohio State this weekend, Nebraska on Monday, and Michigan next weekend. The Huskers have hosted Mangham before. In 2021, the standout safety visited Nebraska June 24-26. Jaden logged ten starts at safety in 2023, on his way to All-Big Ten honorable mention honors, after totaling 53 tackles, seven pass breakups, four interceptions, and a fumble recovery. Mangham appeared in eight games as a freshman, making two starts, and totaled 20 tackles that season.
