When Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas four-star running back and Miami Hurricanes target Stacy Gage isn’t dominating on the gridiron, you can find the elite ball carrier hanging out with his teammates, watching YouTube, or even honing his barbering skills.

“To kick back, relax, and have some fun, I just like to chill with the guys and my family,” Gage said while walking 100 yards in CaneSport’s continuing series. “I cut hair on the side; I like to play games and watch YouTube. I’m a cool guy; I just like chilling.”

Izubee Charles goes end zone to end zone with Gage as they discuss a handful of topics from his recruitment, his move to South Florida, what he likes to do outside of football, and much more!

Gage is looking forward to his senior season in South Florida

After transferring to St. Thomas Aquinas for his senior season, Gage is ready to compete against South Florida’s best under longtime Raiders head coach Roger Harriott.

“I’m loving the vibes,” Gage said. “Especially coming to St. Thomas and being under coach Harriott and the guys he has around me, I’m loving this place. They’re treating me well and getting me ready for college, so I’m loving it.”

Miami is trending in the right direction as of late

The No. 223 overall prospect and No. 19 running back in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, is one of the Hurricanes’ top targets in this cycle and is loving what he has seen from Miami thus far.

“Miami wouldn’t be a bad spot for me,” Gage said. “I’m messing with Miami a lot right now.”

A big reason for that is new running back coach Tim Harris, whom the 5-foot-10.5, 205-pounder has been in contact with and recruited by since his freshmen year in high school.

“He’s just a laid-back, chill guy,” Gage said. “He’s got a good vibe to him, and we’ve already got that relationship. I’ve been talking to him since I was a freshman, and I just like the vibe he’s got. I feel like he can develop me and get me to the next level.”
